photopocene with Nettie Edwards - Episode 20

This podcast truly warmed my eco-conscious photography heart.

Thank you to Nettie Edwards for sharing her photographic story from her early impression of the medium when a youngster as "boring" to her adoration of it and nature through her love of the anthotype and chlorophyll processes.

We touched on Nettie's personal mental health experience, discussing how it became a catalyst for her changed view of, and passion for, photography and a new conduit for sharing her creativity. We also talked about how working in her garden and allotment provides myriad sources of inspiration and material for her fascinating creations.

Describing herself as a "scavenger", Nettie's work merges, mixes and melds flora to found items to reflect on topics such as our relationship with light, family heritage and hidden history, social commentary and diverse communities, and so much more.

And thanks to the cat for making no demands. ;-)
